HOSTELS & DORMITORIES - This is a great self catering vacation. Perfect for students. Very inexpensive.

You share room and baths. Most offer breakfast and dinner. Quite a few have shared cooking facilities.

Some have a curfew and you cannot return to your room during the day. They can be found in convents and monasteries. Fun and unique.

Most people staying here have a wonderful sense of community, I'm sure due to all the sharing. Most of them have a main room where everyone meets and compares their traveling experiences.

The main Youth Hostel in Florence is Europa Villa Camerata. Contact Italian Tourist Board or the Local Tourist office of the town.
